Nymph · Trout · Intermediate · 2 versions
Reference Recipe
- Hook Standard dry/emerger hook, 16-20
- Thread Pale yellow 8/0
Materials
- Tail Light dun wing bud (hackle fibers)
- Abdomen Pale yellow-olive material (fine dubbing)
- Thorax Amber-brown material (fine dubbing)
- Legs Light dun rubber legs (a few hackle fibers)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and start pale yellow thread, running it back to the bend.
- Bind a short, splayed tail of light dun hackle fibers about half a shank long.
- Dub a slim, tapered pale yellow-olive abdomen forward to the 60% mark with sparse dubbing.
- Tie a few light dun fibers along each side of the thorax as legs, reaching the hook point.
- Dub a slightly darker amber-brown thorax over the leg butts up to the eye.
- Whip finish and cement lightly, leaving the abdomen ungreased so it sinks into the film.
