Classic Recipe
Hook 4x streamer, 4-8
Thread Red 6/0
Materials
Tail Red hackle fibers (small)
Body Flat silver tinsel (smooth)
Wing Yellow bucktail, then white, then 2 red & 2 grizzly hackles (layered)
Hackle White, collar (2 turns)
How to tie it
Start red thread and lay a base to the bend.
Tie in a small bunch of red hackle fibers as a tail.
Catch in flat silver tinsel and wrap a smooth body forward to behind the eye, then tie off.
Build the wing in layers over the body: first a sparse bunch of yellow bucktail, then white bucktail over it, then 2 red and 2 grizzly saddle hackles set flat along each side.
Wrap a white hackle as a collar, 2 turns, and sweep the fibers back.
