Materials
- Bead Copper bead (sized to hook)
- Tail Ringneck (pheasant tail fibers)
- Abdomen Natural case (pheasant tail fibers)
- Rib Copper thorax stripe (fine wire)
- Thorax Natural case (peacock herl)
- Legs Ringneck (pheasant tail tips)
How to tie it
- Slide the copper bead to the eye, mount the barbless hook, and start brown thread at the bend.
- Bind 5-6 pheasant tail fibers with tips trailing half a shank length as the tail.
- Tie in the copper wire, then wrap the fiber bundle forward to the 65% mark and lock it with 4-5 counter-wrapped turns of wire.
- Wrap two peacock herls into a plump thorax behind the bead.
- Fold a small clump of pheasant fibers to each side as legs, reaching the hook point.
- Trim the leg butts, build a small thread collar, and whip finish behind the bead.
