How to tie it
- Slide the gold bead to the eye, mount the barbless hook, and start black thread at the bend.
- Bind two brown biots into a short split V tail about half a shank long.
- Tie in the gold tinsel, then wrap a plump peacock herl body forward to just behind the bead.
- Counter-rib with 4-5 open turns of gold tinsel to armor the herl.
- Lay a small bunch of pearl Krystal Flash flat over the back as wings, splitting into a V that reaches the hook point.
- Wind a brown hen hackle for one or two turns as a soft collar, then sweep the fibers back.
- Whip finish behind the bead and cement.
