Tail Schlappen feathers, deceiver-style (4-6)
Flash Flashabou to match (several strands)
Body UV Polar Chenille (both sections)
Connection Articulation wire with red beads (2 beads)
Head Dubbing, trimmed tall and flat-sided (1 clump)
How to tie it
Start on the rear hook: tie in 4-6 schlappen feathers deceiver-style at the bend, in matched pairs curving apart, about two shank lengths long, with several strands of flash over them.
Palmer UV Polar Chenille up the rear shank in touching turns, stroking the fibers back each wrap, and whip finish.
Run articulation wire through the rear hook eye, slide on two red beads, and lash the wire doubled along the front hook shank. The beads keep the joint free so the rear section swings wide.
Palmer UV Polar Chenille over the front shank the same way, stopping a quarter shank behind the eye.
Build a dubbed head trimmed tall and narrow. The vertical face makes the fly cut and dart sideways on a fast strip.
Whip finish and cement. Leave the fly unweighted; it gets its depth from the line.
