Slide a 4.5mm slotted bead onto the 40-degree jig hook, wrap about 54 turns of lead wire on the shank, and jam them up into the bead to seat it.
Start the thread with loose wraps over the lead, then tighter wraps, and carry the thread to the rear.
Tie in a clump of ginger red fox at the rear as long as possible for the tail and cinch it tight.
Dub a loose, messy rope of gold Ripple Ice Dub and wrap a body forward, doubling up over the thin rear section; tie off.
Build a compound collar bundle: lay down mother-of-pearl Ice Dub, gold Ice Dub on top, then a clump of ginger ostrich marabou with the tips just past the guide line; scoop it up and trim the base flush.
Make a short dubbing loop behind the collar area, close it, load the compound bundle, spin into a rope, and pick out the fibers with a bodkin.
Wrap the collar rope forward folding the fibers back, jam it tight behind the bead, and tie off, pulling all fibers back.
