Lay a thread base over the front third of the jig hook.
Slide the 7/64-inch gold tungsten bead onto a sewing pin and lash the pin along the top of the shank so the bead sticks out ahead of the eye, experiment with the overhang and bead weight so the finished fly hangs level; super glue the wraps and let them dry.
Take the thread to the bend and tie in a tail of white Fire Star flash dubbing.
Tie in a pre-built wire dubbing brush of UV2 olive ice dub at the bend, then bring the thread forward to the eye.
Check the brush hasn't unwound, then wind it forward over the shank and out along the pin, tying off just short of the bead to leave room for the head.
Spin a little synthetic peacock dubbing onto the thread and wrap the head behind the bead.
Whip finish, then comb the whole fly out with a wire dubbing brush so the tail, body, and head blend together.
