Balance pin Steel balance pin (Balance pin, extends past eye)
Bead Black or gold bead (Slotted tungsten on the pin)
Tail Black ostrich herl (Marabou + red/pearl flash)
Body Black ostrich herl (Holographic tinsel or UV black dubbing)
Hotspot collar Fluorescent red laser wrap (Ice Dub or dubbing)
How to tie it
Slide the tungsten bead onto the balance pin and mount the hook.
Lash the pin along the top of the shank with the bead protruding one bead width past the eye, then lock it with a drop of superglue. This sets the horizontal balance.
At the bend tie in a black marabou tail one shank length long with a few strands of red and pearl flash for the 'fire'.
Wrap a bright black holographic tinsel body, or dub UV black, forward to just short of the bead.
Dub a hot fluorescent-red collar right behind the bead as the trigger point.
Sweep stray fibers back and whip finish against the bead.
