Reference Recipe

• Hook Jig nymph hook, #14-18
• Thread Olive 8/0

Materials

• Bead Black or copper slotted tungsten bead (Slotted tungsten, sized to hook)
• Tail Speckled brown material (Coq de Leon fibers, a small bunch)
• Body Pearl / silver material (Small Mylar tinsel)
• Collar Natural dun wing bud (One CDC feather)
• Collar accent Peacock / olive collar accent (Pinch of Ice Dub)

How to tie it

1. Slide the slotted tungsten bead onto the jig hook, seat it behind the eye, and mount the hook.
2. Start the thread behind the bead and run a smooth base to the bend.
3. Tie in a short bunch of coq de leon fibers for the tail, about half a shank long.
4. Bind in the pearl tinsel and wrap a bright, even body forward to just behind the bead, then tie off.
5. Tie in a CDC feather by the tip and take one or two turns as a collar, then sweep the fibers back and veil them over the tinsel. The CDC knocks down the shine while letting it peek through.
6. Dub a thin pinch of Ice Dub over the CDC base to finish the collar behind the bead.
7. Whip finish against the bead and snip.
