Hen back/saddle To match saddle hackle (1 feather (collar))
How to tie it
Slide a slotted tungsten bead to the jig eye; behind it superglue 2-3 countersunk beads or wrap several turns of lead and bury them under thread, the extra front weight flips the jig to ride hook-point up.
Tie in a narrow squirrel or micro-rabbit zonker strip at the bend for a tail about one shank long.
Tie in a length of UV polar chenille and run thread to the front.
Advance the zonker strip forward in open spiral wraps to the collar area so the fur pulses in the current, then tie off; palmer the polar chenille through it for flash.
Tie in a hen back feather by the tip and wind 1-2 turns as a soft collar, then sweep the fibers back.
Build a small thread head behind the bead, whip finish and cement.
