Back Tan or tan/brown bucktail (mud-minnow colours) (1 clump)
How to tie it
Lay a thread base and lash bead-chain or small brass eyes on top of the shank about one-third back with figure-eight wraps so the fly rides hook-up, the light eyes keep it from diving into the mud in inches of water.
Tie in a white bucktail belly in front of the eyes, about two hook lengths, and wrap it back under and behind the eyes.
Add a few strands of Krystal Flash.
Invert the hook and tie in a tan (or tan-over-brown) bucktail back, matching length, to imitate a mud minnow or killifish.
Build a smooth tapered thread head and whip finish, cement.
