Reference Recipe

  • Hook Short-shank stout baitfish/jig hook, #10 (8-12)
  • Thread White 70 denier

Materials

  • Ice Wing Fiber Fl. shell pink (tail + body)
  • Bruiser Blend dubbing Medium olive (top) + cream (bottom) (head)
  • Epoxy eyes Chartreuse or silver uv resin (1 pair, 3mm)
  • UV resin Clear uv resin (head coat)

How to tie it

  1. Start thread and tie in a sparse clump of shell-pink Ice Wing Fiber at the bend for a translucent tail about 1.5 shank lengths.
  2. Tie in a second clump of the fiber and fold it back over the shank to build a sparse, see-through body forward to the front third.
  3. Dub the head in two tones: olive Bruiser Blend on top, cream underneath, packed behind the eye.
  4. Sweep the dubbing back and trim the head to a flat baitfish wedge, leaving the translucent tail flowing behind.
  5. Glue an epoxy eye to each side of the head.
  6. Whip finish a small head underneath, then coat the head over the thread and eyes with UV resin and cure hard.
