Start the Black thread on the long shank hook and lay a base back to the start of the bend.
Catch in a length of black Wool yarn at the bend, longer than you think you need — this single piece becomes both tail and back. Use only a few wraps to secure it.
Catch in the Silver oval tinsel at the same point.
Catch in the body Wool yarn as a full, unsplit strand and wrap it forward, going up and back over the middle and flattening the yarn to build a fat belly. Tie off leaving room for a head.
Rib forward with the oval tinsel in open turns and tie off at the front.
Pull the black wool forward over the back, bind it down at the head and trim the excess.
Build a big, shiny head, whip finish, fluff out the tail and trim it to length, and add a drop of head cement.
