Streamer · Trout · Smallmouth Bass · Largemouth Bass · Intermediate · 3 versions
Reference Recipe
- Hook Streamer hook (Gamakatsu B10S), #6
- Thread Olive (or to match) 6/0
Materials
- Marabou or hen saddle Olive marabou (1 sparse clump (tail))
- Krystal Flash Pearl flashabou (few strands)
- Hen saddle feather Olive schlappen or saddle hackle (1 (twist body))
- Spey chickabou Olive marabou (1 (twist body))
How to tie it
- Start thread and tie in a sparse marabou tail off the bend about one shank long, with a few strands of flash.
- Tie in a hen saddle feather and a strand of chickabou together at the base of the tail. Bundling two soft feathers is what makes the 'complex twist.'
- Fold the feathers into a dubbing loop (or the thread) and spin them into a shaggy rope.
- Wrap the twisted rope forward in touching turns to the eye, stroking the fibers back after each wrap so they sweep rearward; tie off.
- Sweep all the fibers back, build a small thread head, whip finish and cement.
