Materials

  • Body Superfine dubbing
  • Wing CDC

How to tie it

  1. Lay thread along the hook shank.
  2. Dub a very fine rope of superfine dubbing and wrap the abdomen with a slight taper, not too heavy.
  3. Stop the abdomen at roughly the quarter to one third mark behind the eye, where the wing goes.
  4. Prepare a small bunch of CDC feather fibres, tie them in at that point with a few wraps and press them hard against the hook.
  5. Take thread wraps back toward the abdomen to lock the wing in place.
  6. Dub the thorax behind the wing, slightly thicker than the abdomen.
  7. Trim the wing at an angle to about half the length of the body.
  8. Whip finish and put a little varnish on the thread wraps of the head.
