Run red thread down the full shank, then lock the dumbbell eyes on about 3/8 to 1/2 inch behind the hook eye with two or three figure-eight passes each way, building a thread base beneath them so there's no hollow spot.
Tie in a bunch of pearl fluorescent orange Crazy Legs at the bend for the tail. Aim for a finished fly of five to six inches.
Tie in the pink jelly fritz and wrap it forward, sweeping the long fibers back each turn so the chenille stacks on itself; small gaps are fine over the red thread base; tie off behind the eyes.
Tie in hot pink grizzly schlappen along each side as wings ending just before the tail legs end (one or two feathers per side depending on the look).
Tie in pink marabou over the top as the main wing.
Pierce a hole in the leather near the front of the white zonker strip and pass it over the hook eye rather than tying in a bulky butt; lay the strip flat down the back so the hide ends about where the schlappen ends, and tie it down.
Trim the rabbit fur at the rear so it dumps out just past the tail tie-in area.
Wet or clip stray fur out of the way, build a neat red head behind the dumbbell eyes, whip finish, and cement.
