Classic Recipe

• Hook Standard nymph hook, 12-16
• Thread Tan 8/0

Materials

• Bead Oversized tungsten copper or gold bead (1)
• Tail Light hare's mask guard hairs (1 small bunch)
• Body Arizona Synthetic light hare's ear dubbing (pinch)
• Rib Fine gold wire or tinsel (1)
• Legs Grizzly rubber legs (1 pair)
• Wingcase Light wingcase material coated with epoxy/UV resin (1)
• Thorax Arizona Synthetic light hare's ear dubbing (pinch)

How to tie it

1. Slide an oversized tungsten bead to the eye and start thread. Tie in a gold wire rib and a short tail of light hare's guard hairs at the bend.
2. Dub a shaggy light tan hare's ear body forward to the 60% mark.
3. Counter-rib with the gold wire in 4-5 open turns for flash and durability.
4. Tie in a light wingcase strip pointing rearward and add grizzly rubber legs to each side.
5. Dub a fuller light hare's ear thorax behind the bead.
6. Pull the wingcase over the thorax, tie off, coat with epoxy or UV resin for a glossy shellback, and whip finish.
