Slide the red glass bead onto the hook and park it out of the way. Start the Black thread mid-shank and lay a base back to the bend.
Take a small Golden Pheasant Tippets feather showing both black bars, snip about ten fibers with tips aligned, and bind them in at the bend as the Tail.
Catch in the rear Brown hackle, undersized - not much more than a hook gap so the gape stays open - with the concave side toward the hook. Wrap three turns, back the thread off to meet it, catch it off, snip the excess, and trim any forward-pointing fibers.
Catch in two strands of Peacock herl back to the hackle, leave the thread at mid-shank where the bead will sit, and wrap the herl forward five to seven turns. Catch off with two wraps and save the herl.
Build a small thread dam so the bead seats against it, then whip finish by hand and cut the thread.
Slide the bead up against the rear body and restart the thread in front of it, adding a small dam there too.
Catch the same two herls in front of the bead, leave the thread mid-way, and wrap the front half of the Body to match the rear. Catch off with two wraps.
Catch in a Brown hackle sized for the hook - fibers a little longer than the hook point - concave side toward the hook, stripping a few extra fibers from the far side. Lock the stem with about six wraps and snip the stub.
Wrap the same number of turns as the rear hackle plus one at most; err on under-hackling. Pull the fibers back and take a few wraps - only enough to stand them perpendicular, not swept back - leaving room for the head.
Whip finish, snip the excess feather, tidy any strays, and add a drop of head cement.
