How to tie it
Slide the 2.8mm Tungsten Bead to the eye. Start the Semperfli Nanosilk with a few turns behind the bead, run down the shank and back up for a solid base.
Cut 10-12 cm of Antron Yarn, fold it in half with the ends lined up, and bind it in right behind the bead so it does not extend over the bead. Bind it down into the bend, then wrap back up, building a little taper.
Make a small mat of Opossum Dubbing and lay it between the two strands of Antron yarn, then twist the strands up by hand as a dubbing loop. Pull out any excess dubbing.
Wrap the twisted loop forward from the back, lifting it slightly as you go so it segments and tapers. At the thread, untwist it to flatten, tie off with a few turns in front, and snip the excess.
Tie the Pearl Tinsel in on top for the Thorax Cover and take a few turns back.
Prepare the India Hen Back by cutting out the middle of the feather and stripping fibers to leave a V. Set it with a fiber on each side with loose turns; if the legs are too long, hold the fly and pull the stem to shorten. Secure, one turn in front, and snip the excess.
Dub the Thorax with Semperfli Ice Dub Bronze mixed with SLF Squirrel, wider than the body, right up to the bead, keeping the wing buds from twisting.
Pull the tinsel cover over, keeping it centered - press it down with a nail - and tie off with a few turns over, then pull it back and a few in front.
Whip finish five turns, pull tight, cut, then trim the tinsel.
Add a drop of Semperfli No Tack UV Resin along the cover from the back, looping over the bead, and cure. Pick or brush out a little dubbing if wanted.
