Start the thread two eye-lengths back from the eye and wrap to the bend.
Even the tips of 10-12 Coq de Leon fibers and tie them in at the bend for a tail one shank-length long; bind the butts forward and trim.
Tie in x-small copper wire at the front and wrap back over it to the tail base.
Cut CDC fibers off the stem close to the quill and dub them loosely on the thread like dubbing.
Wrap the loose CDC dubbing from the bend forward to about the 65% point, making a shaggy, buggy abdomen.
Rib through the abdomen with the wire in fairly close, evenly spaced turns; tie off and break the wire, then sweep stray fibers back and trap them.
Tie in a clump of 18-20 fire orange Fluoro Fibre strands at the front of the abdomen, on top of the shank, and let them hang back for now.
Tie in two bunches of CDC as wings at the 60% point and stand them upright, then pull the orange fluoro fiber clump up between them and lock it forward so it splits the wing into two distinct halves.
Dub CDC fibers over the thorax, covering the wing tie-down and finishing behind the eye.
Trim the fluoro sighter short above the wings, whip finish, and trim any stray CDC below the body.
