Pinch the barb and wrap 0.015 weight over at least half to two-thirds of the shank. Start the Red thread, dam in front, take a few wraps over the weight, dam behind, and run a few extra wraps back.
Catch in the Medium gold tinsel at the rear and park it out of the way. Wax the thread well.
Dub a three-inch noodle of Gray angora goat and wrap the rear half of the body, then dub a second noodle and continue to the front. It should be very buggy; the rib will compress much of it.
Spiral the gold tinsel forward as the Rib and tie it off.
Rough the body up with a Velcro dubbing brush to pull fuzz out. Snip only the longest strays - the bugginess is the point.
Catch in two Pheasant after-shaft feathers together at the front. Two gives more bulk, and a spare if one breaks - they are brittle.
Leave the thread close to the tie-in and wrap both feathers together three or four turns, or until the feathers run out, stopping well short of the eye. Secure but leave the tips for now.
Build a prominent red thread Head - the big red head is part of the fly.
Whip finish, then snip the feather tips off. Add a drop of head cement or UV resin.
