How to tie it
Build a long base of red thread from behind the eye back to just past the hook point (not quite to the bend).
Cut a 6mm foam booby tube in half, and figure-eight one half in as eyes just behind the hook eye.
Whip finish behind the foam eyes to lock them, add a touch of UV resin so they can't spin, and trim the corners off the foam so the eyes look rounder.
Work the thread to the rear tie-in point and tie in 3-5 strands of UV pearl crystal flash: cinch one side, fold the strands forward and over, and tie down the other side so flash lies along both flanks; leave long for now.
With the thread at the rear, drape the synthetic rabbit strip over the shank so its front end just reaches the foam eyes, and cinch it down at the rear tie-in point.
Lift the strip, bring the thread forward underneath it, then pull the strip forward tight under the eyes and tie it down right behind the hook eye.
Trim the excess strip, leaving no more than an eighth of an inch of core as a small body bump, and sweep stray fibers back.
Trim the tail to about 1.5-1.75 inches and trim the flash to match.
Whip finish behind the hook eye (invert the vise for a clear view if rotary) and cement.
