  • Hook 1XL nymph hook, 10-16
  • Thread Brown 8/0 (70 denier)

Materials

  • Bead Gold bead (sized to hook)
  • Tail Brown goose biots (forked pair)
  • Body Amber ice dub (plump, tapered)
  • Rib Gold wire (4-5 turns)
  • Wing White goose biots (paired flat over back)
  • Hackle Brown hen (collar, swept back)

How to tie it

  1. Slide a gold bead to the eye, mount the hook and start thread.
  2. Tie in two brown goose biots at the bend, splayed into a short forked tail.
  3. Tie in gold wire, then dub a plump amber body to just behind the bead.
  4. Rib the wire forward in 4-5 open turns and helicopter off the tag.
  5. Tie two white goose biots flat over the back in a shallow V as the wings.
  6. Wrap a brown hen hackle collar, sweep the fibers back and tie off behind the bead.
  7. Whip finish behind the bead.
