- Hook 1XL nymph hook, 10-16
- Thread Brown 8/0 (70 denier)
Materials
- Bead Gold bead (sized to hook)
- Tail Brown goose biots (forked pair)
- Body Amber ice dub (plump, tapered)
- Rib Gold wire (4-5 turns)
- Wing White goose biots (paired flat over back)
- Hackle Brown hen (collar, swept back)
How to tie it
- Slide a gold bead to the eye, mount the hook and start thread.
- Tie in two brown goose biots at the bend, splayed into a short forked tail.
- Tie in gold wire, then dub a plump amber body to just behind the bead.
- Rib the wire forward in 4-5 open turns and helicopter off the tag.
- Tie two white goose biots flat over the back in a shallow V as the wings.
- Wrap a brown hen hackle collar, sweep the fibers back and tie off behind the bead.
- Whip finish behind the bead.
