Nymph · Trout · Intermediate · 2 versions

Reference Recipe

  • Hook Heavy single predator/streamer hook, 3/0-6/0
  • Thread White 3/0 (210 denier)

Materials

  • Body Bruiser Blend dubbing (olive over white) (full, spun in a loop)
  • Flash Flash-n-Slinky fibers (clumps throughout)
  • Collar Bucktail (on 4/0 and up) (one clump)
  • Eyes Stick-on, optional (pair)

How to tie it

  1. Mount a big single predator hook and start thread near the bend.
  2. Spin a sparse dubbing loop of Bruiser Blend and wrap a full tapered body forward, stroking fibers back with each turn.
  3. Work in clumps of Flash-n-Slinky as you go for a wide, water-pushing profile.
  4. On larger ties, add a bucktail collar behind the head to prop the synthetics open.
  5. Build a bulky head and whip finish.
  6. Sculpt the profile to a broad baitfish shape with scissors; trim, don't stack.
