How to tie it
Cut a section of large pearl E-Z Body tubing to suit the hook and completely flatten it with smooth pliers, stretching the sides and squeezing it flat again.
Shape the flattened tubing into an S shape, with the more exaggerated side sticking off the back.
Bend the hook shank about a third to halfway back so the kink faces down to match the S shape.
Slip the hook through the tubing directly in the middle so the fly is centred.
Tie the tubing down with thread as smoothly as possible without pinching it, whip finish and cut the thread; stretch the sides so it is wider in the middle than at the rear and front.
Fold a bunch of Bill's Bodi-Braid into about eight pieces with loops, jam it into the rear of the tubing, wrap the thread tightly to secure it, cut the loops to make a flashy tail and whip finish.
Colour the top half with markers: yellow first, then olive over most of it, then blue (jittering the marker so only some of the weave takes colour), then a black Sharpie along the back ridge.
Add a gill with a red Sharpie.
Stick on the eyes, using a little super glue to hold them.
