Materials

• Head Conehead (size and colour not stated)
• Body Chenille ball
• Hackle Marabou: orange, a second colour, then purple
• Flash Krystal Flash

How to tie it

1. Slide a conehead onto the hook, put the hook in the vise and lay down a thread base, leaving the thread at the rear.
2. Create a chenille ball; this gives the marabou a fuller profile and better action in the water.
3. Select an orange marabou feather and tie it in tip first directly in front of the chenille ball.
4. Wrap the marabou forward, stroking the fibres out as you go and taking care not to wrap over previous wraps.
5. After tying off the orange marabou, select a second marabou feather and wrap it forward in the same manner.
6. Add Krystal Flash, tied in on top of the hook shank.
7. Finish with a purple marabou feather wrapped forward to the cone, and tie off.
