Reference Recipe
- Hook Heavy-wire salmon/steelhead hook, 1/0-4
- Thread Black 6/0 (140 denier)
Materials
- Cone Gold brass cone (6mm)
- Underbody weight Lead-free wire (.030, 10-15 wraps)
- Body Pearl/blue Flashabou (thin, rear 60%)
- Wing/collar 1 Hot orange marabou (one plume, palmered)
- Wing/collar 2 Hot pink marabou (one plume, palmered)
- Collar Blue schlappen (2-3 turns)
How to tie it
- Slide the gold cone to the eye, mount the hook and start thread behind it.
- Wrap 10-15 turns of lead-free wire and shove them into the cone to seat it and add sink.
- Wrap a thin Flashabou body from the bend to the 60% mark.
- Palmer a marabou plume forward by the tip, stroking fibers back each turn.
- Palmer a second contrasting marabou plume ahead of the first.
- Add 2-3 turns of blue schlappen as a collar, sweeping it back.
- Build a small thread dam behind the cone and whip finish.
