Tyer Recipe

  • Hook Streamer / wet fly, 4-8
  • Thread Black 6/0

Materials

  • Tail Red buzzer wrap (hackle fibers or wool)
  • Body White uni stretch (chenille or wool)
  • Rib Silver metal tape (flat or oval tinsel)
  • Wing White uni stretch (bucktail or polar bear)
  • Cheeks Natural case (jungle cock (optional))

How to tie it

  1. Start the thread and tie in a short red tail at the bend.
  2. Tie in the silver rib, then wrap a white chenille body forward.
  3. Rib the body with evenly spaced silver turns and tie off.
  4. Tie in a white bucktail wing over the top, length to the tail.
  5. Add jungle cock cheeks if desired, build the head, and whip finish.
