Materials
Tag Silver tinsel (3 turns)
Tail Golden pheasant topping + tippet strands (1 + few)
Body Rear half light orange seal's fur, front half black floss (1 each)
Ribs Oval silver over the orange; flat silver + twist over the black (1 each)
Body hackles Lemon-yellow over the orange half, black heron substitute over the black half (2)
Throat Teal flank (1-2 turns)
Wings Cinnamon (or white) turkey tail strips, set flat (2)
Cheeks Jungle cock, drooping (2)
How to tie it
Wind a silver tag, then tie in a golden pheasant crest tail with a few tippet strands.
Dub the rear half of the body with light orange seal's fur, palmering a lemon hackle over it and ribbing with oval silver.
Wrap the front half in black floss, palmer the long black heron substitute over it, and rib with flat silver and twist to lock the hackle.
Wind 1-2 turns of teal as a throat.
Set the two cinnamon turkey strips flat and low over the body in the Dee style, splayed so they scissor apart in the current rather than sitting like a sail.
Add drooping jungle cock cheeks along the sides, form a neat head, whip finish and varnish.
