Reference Recipe
- Hook 3XL nymph/streamer hook, 6-12
- Thread Brown 6/0 (140 denier)
Materials
- Bead Gold bead (sized to hook)
- Tail Olive-brown marabou + pearl Krystal Flash (one shank length)
- Abdomen Olive-brown dubbing (tapered, rear half)
- Rib Gold wire (brassie, 4-5 turns)
- Legs Brown/olive rubber legs (two pair)
- Thorax/collar Darker olive-brown dubbing (front half)
How to tie it
- Slide a gold bead to the eye, mount the hook and start thread.
- At the bend tie in a few strands of Krystal Flash and a clump of olive-brown marabou for a tail about one shank length.
- Tie in gold wire, then dub a tapered abdomen forward to mid-shank.
- Rib the wire forward in 4-5 open turns and helicopter off the tag.
- Set two pairs of rubber legs in the thorax area and use thread wraps to sweep them back behind the bend.
- Dub a fuller thorax and collar over the leg butts up to the bead.
- Whip finish behind the bead, then pick out the collar dubbing for movement.
