Reference Recipe
- Hook standard dry fly, 12-16
- Thread gray 70 denier
Materials
- Tail Grizzly and brown hackle (long mixed hackle fibers)
- Body Adams gray (slim superfine dubbing)
- Hackle Grizzly and brown hackle (1 each, oversized)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and start thread.
- Tie a long tail of mixed grizzly and brown fibers, about 1.5 shank lengths, for balance.
- Dub a very slim gray body to the 75% mark.
- Tie in oversized grizzly and brown hackles, one to two sizes large.
- Wind 5-6 dense turns at the front and tie off.
- Whip finish at the eye.
