Classic Recipe

• Hook Standard dry fly, 14-18
• Thread Gray 8/0

Materials

• Tail Grizzly hackle fibers (split)
• Body Muskrat dubbing (slender)
• Wing Grizzly hackle tips (spent, horizontal)
• Hackle Grizzly hackle (sparse, clipped top and bottom)

How to tie it

1. Mount hook, start thread
2. Tie in split tail fibers
3. Dub slender muskrat body
4. Tie in hackle tips as spent wings flat
5. Wrap sparse hackle, clip top and bottom to ride flush
6. Whip finish
