Classic Recipe

• Hook Standard dry fly, 10-16
• Thread Gray 8/0

Materials

• Tail Grizzly and brown hackle fibers (mixed)
• Body Natural gray deer hair (spun & clipped)
• Wing Grizzly hackle tips (upright)
• Hackle Grizzly and brown hackle (mixed)

How to tie it

1. Mount hook, start thread at bend
2. Tie in mixed hackle fiber tail
3. Spin natural deer hair in clumps, pack tightly
4. Trim deer hair to cigar shape
5. Tie in upright hackle tip wings
6. Wrap mixed hackle, whip finish
