As tied by LIFliesMike (synthetic, UV resin at every tie)
Materials
Hook Eagle Claw 413 jig hook, size 1
Eyes Dumbbell eyes
Tail Magnum Flashabou
Body and wing SF Blend (Steve Farrar fiber) / Slinky fiber: gray (in place of white) belly, chartreuse top, dark brown, black with blue and red flash
UV resin Solarez medium, applied after every tie
How to tie it
Affix the dumbbell eyes with figure-eight wraps, wrapping in front and behind, then wrap underneath around the base to tighten.
Tie in a healthy amount of Magnum Flashabou off the back as the flash tail, and cure a coat of UV resin over the wraps; move the thread forward rather than whip finishing between steps.
Tie on the first body section with V-ties of SF Blend: gray on the belly (white would be used) and chartreuse on top, kept sparse, with the flash tail sticking out at least an inch beyond the material.
Apply UV resin and cure, move the thread forward, and tie a second body section the same way, tapering the material shorter as you move forward.
Move to the front, wrap in front of the dumbbell eyes, tie on belly material and fold it back over the eyes, adding more so the belly is full.
Tie on the wing: dark brown on top over the chartreuse, folded back, then a small amount of black SF Blend with blue and red flash on top as a dark back.
Whip finish, coat the head in UV resin and cure, with a second thin coat to fill out a thin head.
