Classic Recipe
- Hook Standard wet fly, 6-14

Materials
- Tag Flat gold tinsel (short)
- Tail Golden pheasant tippet (small bunch)
- Rib Flat gold tinsel (fine)
- Body Red floss (tapered)
- Hackle Brown hen hackle (1)
- Wing Natural grey mallard flank (1 folded slip)
How to tie it
- Wrap a short gold tag at the bend and tie in the tippet tail, half a shank length.
- Tie in the gold rib and wrap a smooth, slightly tapered red floss body to the 70% mark.
- Rib with 4-5 evenly spaced turns of tinsel.
- Wind 2-3 turns of brown hen hackle and sweep it down as a throat.
- Fold a natural mallard flank feather and set it as a low wing, tips reaching the tag.
- Whip finish a neat black head.
