  • Hook 2XL nymph hook, 8-12
  • Thread black 70 denier / 6-0

Materials

  • Tail Olive ostrich herl (guinea or mallard flank fibers)
  • Body Olive ostrich herl (seal fur (or ice-dub sub))
  • Rib Gold middle (oval tinsel)
  • Beard Olive ostrich herl (guinea fibers)
  • Head Peacock ice dub (2-3 herls)

How to tie it

  1. Mount the nymph hook and start black thread at the bend.
  2. Tie in a short olive guinea tail about half a shank long.
  3. Bind a length of oval gold tinsel for the rib.
  4. Dub a shaggy olive seal-fur body forward to the 80% mark and pick it out buggy.
  5. Rib forward with 5-6 open turns of tinsel and tie off.
  6. Tie a sparse olive guinea beard beneath the hook, reaching to the point.
  7. Wind 2-3 turns of peacock herl for the head and whip finish.
