Place two beads on the jig hook, a 4.5mm metallic red at the front followed by a 4mm at the back, mount the hook with the slot rotated down, and jam the thread into the gap to lock the beads.
Start the wine thread and secure the beads with figure-eight/locking wraps.
Prep a healthy clump of black marabou, strip the fluff, measure a long tail (about one shank length past the bend), and tie it in at the rear; wrap slightly down the bend to reduce fouling.
Tie in a strand of Straggle chenille and take a couple of turns to cover the tie-in; add a few whip finishes here for durability.
Tie in a polar fiber brush by the tip, take 2-3 turns folding the fibers back each wrap, part/comb the fibers, then tie off and add securing wraps; flush-cut the wire core.
Whip finish and brush out the body.
