Reference Recipe
- Hook standard dry fly, 16-18
- Thread pale yellow 70 denier
Materials
- Tail Light dun wing bud (microfibetts, split)
- Body Pale yellow-olive material (PMD superfine dubbing)
- Post White uni stretch (poly yarn)
- Hackle Light dun hackle (1 feather)
- Thorax Pale yellow-olive material (superfine dubbing)
How to tie it
- Mount the hook and start pale thread.
- Tie in a few dun microfibetts one shank length long, then split them into a narrow V for a stable float.
- Post a white poly wing upright at the 65% mark and anchor it with a thread base.
- Dub a slim pale-yellow body from the bend to the post.
- Tie in a dun hackle at the post, then dub the thorax around its base.
- Wind 4-5 hackle turns down the post and tie off beneath it.
- Whip finish at the eye.
