- Hook 3XL nymph hook, 4-10
- Thread black 6/0
Materials
- Gold bead Gold bead (1)
- Goose biots Brown goose biots (2 for tail)
- Copper wire Copper wire (rib)
- Peacock herl Natural peacock herl (abdomen and thorax)
- Hen hackle Brown hen hackle (1 for collar)
- Mottled turkey Natural mottled turkey (wingcase)
How to tie it
- Slide the gold bead to the eye and start thread behind it.
- Tie in two brown goose biots as a split tail at the bend and secure copper wire for the rib.
- Wrap a peacock herl abdomen forward to the 60% point, then counter-wrap the copper wire and tie off.
- Tie in a mottled turkey section for the wingcase over the thorax area.
- Wrap a peacock herl thorax up to the bead.
- Pull the turkey wingcase forward and tie down, then wrap a brown hen hackle collar behind the bead.
- Whip finish behind the bead and cement.
