Slide the Bead to the eye and wrap 0.015 lead-free wire behind it over the front of the shank. Start thread and run it back to the hook point.
Set two Brown Goose Biots back to back at the hook point so they splay, with one collecting wrap and one securing wrap; bind the butts forward to where the wire wraps begin to keep the profile smooth.
Tie in the Copper Wire starting right behind the wire wraps and bind it back.
Even the tips of seven strands of Peacock Herl, clip them square, and tie them in starting right behind the wire wraps. Bring the thread forward to the 3/4 point.
Wrap the peacock herl forward, overlapping wraps slightly to thicken the body as you go, up to the 3/4 point. Secure and clip the excess.
Counter-wrap the copper wire forward over the herl so it stands out, secure with a couple of thread wraps, and helicopter or clip the tag.
Tie in about 14 strands of Pheasant Tail at the front of the abdomen, tips pointing back over the body, for the wing case.
Prepare a Hungarian Partridge feather - strip the fuzz, pull the fibers back, clip the tip to a small triangle - and tie it in on top of the pheasant tail, concave side up so the curve faces the eye.
Dub the thorax with Squirrel Dubbing in several applications, building the whole thorax up thick to the bead.
Gently pull the partridge forward over the thorax, slip the thread between its fibers and secure it behind the bead; clip the excess.
Pull the Pheasant Tail wing case forward and bind it down, then whip finish right there - finishing at this point stops the thread pushing the wing case around to the far side of the hook. Clip the excess.
Tease the squirrel dubbing out of the thorax with a dubbing brush.
